"a" column or row of the kana syllabary

  • Emerald Cut / Emerald Cut
    A square cut commonly applied to emeralds, it is characterized by a wide table surface. This cut method was developed to highlight the color and clarity of the gemstone rather than its brilliance.

  • Cutting / Cutting
    It is a molding process that maximizes the properties and characteristics of the stone and cuts off the stone to create the most beautiful appearance. There are various cutting methods.
  • Karat / Karat
    The unit of weight of a diamond: 1 carat (symbol ct) is 200 milligrams. A unit smaller than a carat is called a "point," and one point is two milligrams. It is also used to indicate the purity of gold. 24 carats (symbol K, kt) is pure gold, and 1 carat is one twenty-fourth of that amount. 18 carats (18k gold) indicates that 18/24ths of the gold is pure gold.

  • Grinding / KENMA
    This is the process of polishing and smoothing natural stone and other materials. It is often done to finish a surface area.
  • KOUMARU
    A ring design with a rounded, curved surface. It is the most popular standard design for wedding rings.
  • Engagement Rings / Engagement Rings
    A ring given by a man to a woman to commemorate their engagement. Also known as an engagement ring or engagement ring, it originated in ancient Rome, where iron rings were given as a sign of engagement.

  • Silver / Shiruba
    It is the second most common metal discovered after gold and copper. Since pure gold is too soft for jewelry in its pure form, alloys with copper and other metals are generally used. When exposed to air for a long period of time, it combines with sulfur to form silver sulfide, but it can be easily cleaned with silver cleaner and can be used for a long time.
  • Core clamping
    This technique is used to clasp single-holed pearls and coral stones. A thin core (0.7 to 0.9 mm in diameter) is coated with adhesive, and a pearl or other object with a hole drilled halfway through is set into the core and clamped.

    A scratch on the surface of a gemstone.

  • Pink Diamond / PINK DIAMOND
    These rare and highly valuable pink diamonds are mined from mines in western Australia. Generally, the darker the color, the higher the value.
  • Pink gold (K18PG)
    This alloy is made by mixing gold with silver and copper to add color. It is especially popular among women because its hue matches Japanese skin.
  • Flattening / Hirauchi
    It refers to a design in which the surface of the ring is sharp and flat. It has a clean look and presence, and is a design that can be worn for a long time.
  • White Gold (K18WG) / White Gold
    This is a gold alloy that is white in color due to the use of a split gold alloy. There are two types of gold alloys: palladium-based and nickel-based. It is characterized by a more subdued color than platinum and is especially popular among men.

  • Matt / Matto
    This is a finishing method to achieve a ring surface without luster. By carving fine irregularities on the surface, light is diffusely reflected, resulting in a moist and subdued texture.
  • Milling / Miruchi
    It is a technique of engraving a series of fine bead patterns on the frame of a ring. It is a decorative technique that has been applied to jewelry since ancient times. The fine grains give the jewelry a delicate and luxurious impression.
  • Meredia / Meredia
    A diamond is a small diamond of 0.1 carat or less. They can be used to decorate the center stone or paved to increase the sparkling impression.

  • 4C / Yonshi
    It is a worldwide standard for evaluating diamonds, and is an acronym for Cut (Polishedness), Clarity (Transparency), Carat (Weight), and Color (Color).

"ra" column or row of the kana syllabary

  • Round cut / Laundeck cut
    A round cut is a general term for a cut that is circular in shape. Even if it is not a perfect circle, if it looks almost circular, it is said to be a round cut.
  • Ring Gauge / Ring Gauge
    A ring is a tool used to determine the thickness of the finger when making a ring. It is also called a "size gauge," and is generally made up of a bunch of rings of different sizes in increments of one size.
  • Ruth / Ruth
    A gemstone that has not been set in a frame. Also called "bare stones," they are different from "gemstones" because they have already been cut and polished. Some places sell only loose gemstones, which can be carried around as a good luck charm or collected for enjoyment.
